Diversity in the Modeling Industry is changing — the 2019 New York Fashion Week Runway show was very diverse and is starting to become inclusive. Before, the models you would see walking down the runway were skinny, white, and tall models; while only a few would be of different color. Now, models of different color, age, gender, weight, and transgender/non-binary models were shown walking down the high-end fashion show runways.

More high-end fashion brands are trying to become more diverse and inclusive with their models. Shows like the Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya NYFW Show included models of all race and sizes, even pregnant model Ashley Graham. After seeing the diversity in New York Fashion Week’s 2019 Show, which included many diverse models, other fashion brands want to step it up.
